Today, we remember and celebrate the life of Njoki Njehû.
Njoki dedicated her life to building a more just world. She was a Pan-African feminist, a fearless organizer, and one of the most influential voices in the global fight against inequality. Her passing leaves an enormous void, but her ideas, courage and generosity continue to inspire movements across the world.
To honour her memory, we’re resharing one of the most personal conversations we’ve ever recorded.
In this special Valentine’s episode, Njoki and her late husband, fellow activist Soren Ambrose, reflected on 23 years of love and activism. They spoke about meeting in the struggle against the World Bank and IMF, building movements together, sustaining a marriage while challenging injustice, and finding hope in collective action.
It’s a conversation that reminds us that movements are built not only on strategy and conviction, but also on friendship, care, joy and love.
Rest in power, Njoki. Thank you for showing us that another world is possible—and that it is built together.
